Fees for Court related services

The therapeutic process often involves disclosure of many matters which are confidential in nature, please be aware that the testimony of the Therapist in court can damage the Therapeutic relationship. We understand at times it may be necessary for us to be subpoenaed to court as a Fact Witness, and testify to the facts of the case and to their professional opinion. Even though you are responsible for the testimony fee, it does not mean that your Therapist's testimony will be solely in your favor. It is our ethical duty to make every reasonable effort to promote the welfare, autonomy, and best interests of our Clients. We recommend discussing with your Therapist and legal counsel the possible limitations to testifying.

Should you and your legal counsel still desire our presence in court, a retainer of $550 is due at least seven (7) days before the scheduled court date. Additional fees that may be accrued will be charged at $110/hour, billed in 15-minute increments.

  • All preparatory time (e.g., reviewing files, communications related to preparation, preparing summary of service documentation).
  • Time spent traveling to and from the Court House and time spent waiting to testify.
  • If consultations or Therapist's testimony is reset/canceled with less than 72 business hours notice, no refund will be afforded for the scheduled time.
  • Any remaining funds will be returned to the paying party within 30 days after the Therapist’s testimony.

Updated informed consent and release of information (ROI) must be signed by Client/Guardian(s) prior to Therapists consultation with legal counsel.
